It appears that Diablo; RPG game, will be made into a movie. On Legendary Pictures website, Diablo is listed as "In Development". Although there is no official press release by Legendary Pictures, a Diablo movie would be interesting. Legendary Pictures has produced some good movies like 300, Superman Returns and Batman Begins. The MMO game design has not evolved nearly as fast as it should have for the past 10 years. These current MMOs to date have the same elements that were built around Ultima Online and EverQuest. The element of grinding, static respawn zones, and damage over time. Here's a good article where Richard Garriott from NCsoft speaks about the state of MMORPGs.
Sony Online Entertainment, (SOE) a global leader in the online gaming industry, announced it is developing The Agency™, a fast-paced online action shooter filled with espionage, intrigue and betrayal. The Agency is being developed at SOE’s Seattle studio for both the PC and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.
K2 Network has announced that their Free2Play title Global MU Online, the banner under which the Korean MMORPG title MU Online is being marketed worldwide, will be getting a new expansion later this month.

We know there are many geeks out there who play video games. Even if they try to deny it, we know they game. Anyway, since the first mmorpg that was released which I believe is Ultima Online. Since that time, the explosion of the mmorpg genre rise to insane proportions. Much thanks to World of Warcraft who in my opinion really generated the popularity for mmorpgs. The first mmorpg that I got hooked into was Everquest. Boy was this a really great game! Too bad it's a stinky ever since SOE aquired them. But, will the increase growth of mmorpgs push other gaming genres to extinction? Specifically singleplayer rpgs like Oblivion, Gothic 3, Knights of the Old Republic, Dungeon Siege II, and etc.

I'm also a fan of massive multiplayer online gaming. I have tried City of Heroes before with its trial and the game was pretty good. I wonder how a movie of this game will turn out? Will it be something like X-men, Fantastic Four, and Spider-man movies?
